City College Demographics, Fall 1996-1997. Fact Sheet.

This document contains statistical demographic information describing the gender, age, and ethnicity of the 57,772 students enrolled at City College of San Francisco (CCSF) during the fall 1997 semester, as well as the ethnicity of the faculty, classified staff and administrators working at CCSF at that time. The report includes 1996 figures for purposes of comparison. Survey results for 1997 include the following information: (1) credit students are 55% female; 33% Asian/Pacific Islander, 30% white, 14% Hispanic/Latino, 8% African American; 25% are between the ages of 20-24, and 20% between the ages of 25-29; (2) non-credit students are 58% female, 42% Asian/Pacific Islander, 21% white, 21% Hispanic/Latino, 6% African American; 38% of non-credit students are older than 50, and 16% are between the ages of 40-49; (3) of the 1593 faculty members, 61% are white, 16% Asian/Pacific Islander, 9% Hispanic Latino, 9% are African American; (4) of the 769 staff members, 29% are Asian/Pacific Islander, 27% white, 16% African American and 15% are Hispanic/Latino; and (5) of the 37 administrators, 43% are white, 22% Asian/Pacific Islander, 22% African American and 8% are Hispanic/Latino.
