Digitized version of microfilm collection comprising the record cards, correspondence, and reports of the Military Intelligence Division (MID) that relate to conditions in five Central American countries--Costa Rica, El Salvador (throughout this period commonly referred to as "Salvador"), Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua--from 1918 to 1941. This collection consists largely of reports from U.S. military attachés assigned to Central America. Many of the documents in this collection were classified as secret, confidential, or restricted at the time of their creation and had those classification markings, stamped, typed, or written on them. The Department of the Army reviewed and declassified all of the records in this collection.
