Note:"[This] version ... presented in this DVD edition by Home Vision Entertainment is the only version that exists for worldwide release. The version shown in Cannes was a working version that was later cut with the director's total involvement in order to enhance the film's commercial prospects and to tighten the storyline, which he did not have time to do before the Cannes premiere. The negatives were all cut to conform to this version. One or two prints of the longer cut were left to circulate to a few film festivals, but they are not approved by the director for commercial release"--Container insert.
