Note:	Chromo-lithographed illustrated title page by B.W. Thayer & Co., lithogr., Boston. Most of the maps are engraved by G.W. Boynton. Essentially the T.G. Bradford 1838 Illustrated atlas, without the text and with the addition of 10 maps: 2 hemispheres, South America, Atlantic Ocean, Europe (3), Africa, Asia, and Pacific Ocean. Scanned raster images of original: 1 atlas ([51] leaves of plates, [1] leaf): 50 hand colored maps ; 43 cm. Original in the David Rumsey Collection; scanned by Cartography Associates.
