To get to that point a whole host of things would need to transpire, with challenges to creativity and constancy, rationality and an appreciation of African interests in a globalizing world. These tasks are not only at the level of ideas, they are more overwhelmingly practical. The initial step at this point in time is for us to be able to sustain the emergence of a cultural renaissance, a self-awareness campaign based on our heritage and who we are as Africans. I am also sure that the way forward will be crowded with enormous challenges which will sorely test our ingenuity, resilience and forbearance.
