In a Memorial Day intallment of "Dunbar commentary," Dr. Willis Dunbar reflects on the nature of war and the reasons why soldiers fight. Dunbar says that he recently spoke to a Korean War veteran who reported that morale was high on the battlefield, but that G.I.s do not understand why they are fighting.
