In this installment of "Know your city," Dr. Loy Norrix, Superintendent of Kalamazoo Public Schools, discusses the problems raised by the increased birth rate preceding and following World War II and the plan to address the strain placed on the school system. Norrix outlines the current plan for the school year, which includes hiring new elementary teachers, while also discussing future construction plans for a new junior high school which will help relieve overpopulation in the classroom.
