Also looks at the blacklist and its links not only to established right-wing figures such as Senator Joseph McCarthy (R-WI) and Richard Nixon - then a California congressman, but also to the cold-war policies of Harry Truman and Dean Acheson. Through interviews with formerly blacklisted people and their lawyers, this program explores the pain and frustration of the blacklist, and the strategies devised by the victims for survival. Numerous Hollywood actors, writers, and composers, are heard. Produced by WBAI with assistance from KPFK.
