In a candid interview, Robert Coles, well known child psychiatrist, author, and professor emeritus at Harvard University, reminiscences about his life, family, education, and career. Coles talks about treating children and his early use of audio recording equipment in his therapy sessions, his relationship with painter Norman Rockwell, his book on Anna Freud and his other writings, founding the magazine "DoubleTake," and his sometimes rocky relationship with Harvard University. He also talks about working with his wife and her illness and death and says that he believes that the treatments she received actually shortened her life. Coles is interviewed by David Cooper, Michigan State University professor of Writing, Rhetoric and American Cultures, in Concord, MA.
