|a Harvard Professor Emeritus and noted author and child psychiatrist Robert Coles, talks about a letter he wrote to Catholic activist Dorothy Day in October 1972, in which he describes his life in New Mexico and discusses the juxtaposition of beauty and misery. Coles also talks about Day helping the poor to find work, her conflicts with Cardinal Spellman and Day's reaction to his book about her and rumors of the two of them having an affair. He shares stories about the Kennedys, befriending Jackie Kennedy and his associations with other celebrities. Part four of a five part discussion of Coles' personal correspondence. Coles is interviewed by David Cooper, Michigan State University professor of Professor Writing, Rhetoric and American Cultures, in Concord, MA.
