Juno and the Paycock / Desert Island Films.
The literary critic Harold Bloom called Sean O'Casey's play Juno and the Paycock, about a family living in a Dublin slum during the Irish Civil War, "one of the permanent dramas of our time." This fine 1930 adaptation was one of Alfred Hitchcock's earliest films.
