Description
Summary:
Beckett, expatriate Irishman resident in Paris, was a truly bilingual author who wrote both in French and in English, translating most of the works he wrote in English into French, and vice versa. Tous ceux qui tombent (All that Fall)-written in English and translated by Robert Pinget-is a barely human and absurdist dialogue between a semi-functional old woman and her blind husband. As always with Beckett, the onus is on the director to stage a dramatic production of a play that lacks any real action while remaining faithful to the mood and language of Beckett-a challenge successfully met here by Michel Mitrani.
