Broadcast station owner and football legend Willie D. Davis was born on July 24, 1934, in Lisbon, Louisiana. After graduating from Grambling State University with his B.S. degree in 1956, he was drafted into the U.S. Army. Beginning in 1958, Davis played two years with the Cleveland Browns and was then traded to the Green Bay Packers. During ten seasons, Davis played 138 consecutive regular-season games and was a member of all five of Vince Lombardi's NFL title-winning teams. He also played in Super Bowls I and II, retiring from the Packers in 1969. Davis obtained his M.B.A. degree from the University of Chicago in 1968. The following year, he purchased the West Coast Beverage Company. In 1976, he became president and chief executive officer of All Pro Broadcasting. Davis was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1981. He has a son, actor Duane Davis.
