|a A compilation of interviews collected by Earle Robinson as source material for WKAR programming. Dr. Robert L. Green, director of the Center for Urban Affairs at Michigan State University, describes reactions to the content of the 1972 report he co-authored challenging the record of discrimination in the athletic department at MSU and in the Big Ten Conference. Green says the reaction has been mixed and that he has received considerable hate mail and threatening phone calls. He also describes issues his report uncovered and criticizes the coverage given by the campus newspaper "The State news." Dr. Joseph McMillan, MSU vice president for human relations, describes reactions to the report from Black faculty, administrators and students around the Big Ten but says the MSU students have been very supportive. He also criticizes the reporting by "The State news." Manuel Castillo and Greg Murray also comment on the report, along with several other unidentified speakers.
