In 19th-century full navy blue crushed morocco; both boards with four gilt cornerpieces (monogram of le comte Alexandre-Louis-Thomas de Lurde, surmounted with a count's coronet); spine with five raised bands and six compartments decorated with the same monogram device and title in gilt; outer edges of boards, end-band covers, and turn-ins tooled in gilt; all edges marbled and gilt; marbled end-papers; red silk page-markers; binding signed in gilt inside front board ("Trautz-Bauzonnet") and inside rear board ("1866").
