Ruth Parke discusses her service in the Women's Army Corps (WAC) during World War II. Parke talks about her life before she joined the WAC and her motivation to enlist. She describes her time in boot camp and her duty to identify airplanes that flew over. Parke does not remember having any problems with the men in the military, but remembers most of the women officers being very nice. She reminisces about V-E day and the end of the war, recalling how exciting it was in New York City but regrets not having the chance to go to Europe. Parke is interviewed by Kathryn Cavanaugh.
